Heat wave? No problem. These looks will keep you office ready and fashion forward.
Dressing for the summer can be a welcomed treat with options that include: shorts, sandals, spaghetti strap tops. After months of cold and damp whether, I cannot wait for summer to arrive. On the days you plan to go to the office however, outfit options can feel pretty restrictive. Office attire can vary by industry and in a post pandemic (sort of?) world, much of what was worn to work might have shifted to the back of your closet and mind by now.
I share things I enjoy with all of you. If you happen to buy, I may earn a commission when you use the links in this post (at no cost to you). |
My go to office outfit choice as of late is a simple midi dress. And I truly mean simple. They are usually a solid color, in moveable fabric, with plenty of coverage (you want to avoid sheer material). However, dressing for the office is not without its challenges. You have to be prepared for the transition from 90 degree heat to freezing air conditioner temperatures. Not to mention, on humid days no one wants to deal with walking blocks in uncomfortable fabric or trying to fan away sweat stains before your morning meeting.

I believe if I am braving a morning commute I want to look good when I come to the office. Honestly I feel this way no matter what my commute experience is like. The Coach Haley Loafers are my favorite shoes to wear to work. They are comfortable and the silhouette of this loafer works with so many outfits. For a more airy option, I wear the Coach Samie Slide.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again — let your accessories do the work. I found this beaded necklace deep in my jewelry box that morning and I just had to wear it. Isn’t she gorgeous?!
When it comes to bags, I tend to store my entire life in my purse. I learned early on in my career that even if it is sweltering heat outside, always carry a light cardigan. Room temperatures in office buildings can vary so you want to be prepared no matter what. And that’s exactly what I do. My bags are usually big enough to hold a cardigan, an umbrella, and all of my other essentials. Even if you are not a bag lady like me, the options below are great totes for the office.
Make sure to bookmark this post for simple yet fashionable office outfit inspo for these hot weeks. I am thoroughly enjoying the dresses I picked up from Zara recently. This shirt dress is one of them, it’s office friendly and versatile enough for happy hour after work.
Live abundantly,
