This is the black dress you need in your closet. Move over little black dress because the midi bodycon is redefining how I think about the staple black dress.
Last weekend, this dress turned heads at a friend’s surprise birthday party (which also became a surprise engagement party… double surprise – loved it!). Committed to pieces that range from basic to glam, Meshki gets it right again with a dress that is flattering and elegant. I have collected a few pieces from Meshki over the last few years. I can say this brand has become one of my top 5 favorite brands that provide wearable glam for a reasonable price. For a gold finish I wore these Steve Madden heels and textured gold earrings. I orginally purchased the earrings from ASOS but I am linking a similar pair of earrings.
The prominent, yet not overly stated cut outs is what makes this piece a head turner. The teardrop cut starting at the shoulder nicely rounds out at the center of the bosom. The second cut gives the waist some much deserving attention. Finally, the one sleeve silhouette is easily a cocktail party favorite.
The moment I saw this dress I knew I wanted an updo for my hair and red lip. My hair was a 9 day old perm rod set that was originally done at Citryne Rose New York. I created faux bangs in the front and pulled the rest of my hair into a high puff. For makeup, Chrishana of @makeupbychrishana went for a soft gold glam on the eyes and my favorite red lip.
